Sylvia has over 25 years experience in risk management. Beginning her career at Zurich Insurance Company in Baltimore, Maryland, she returned home to New Jersey in 2000 and began an impressive career at a few of the largest national brokerage firms in the country to include; Hub International, Willis, Integro Insurance Brokerage and Risk Strategies. Sylvia has worked in advisory and leadership roles for most of her career and was formerly the Vice President, division manager and private client practice leader of Integro (Ventura) Insurance Brokerage, an entertainment specialty brokerage for over 10 years before co founding Momentum Risk Management in 2019.

Sylvia is a tactician in personal risk management and personal wealth preservation. Her extensive experience in Private Client has led her to be the trusted advisor of high net worth individuals and C suite executives, several top level athletes and sports executives, celebrities and entertainers and several Forbes 400 legacy families. She also consults with organizations, municipalities and small business owners on the negotiation, procurement, placement and management of their insurance programs, and through her consulting arm The Watchridge Group, she offers fractional risk management to small businesses; helping them solve business development and risk strategy challenges that affect their organizations. Her stewardship over the most intricate details of a client's risk management allows them the conveniences to lead their lives with greater opportunity and less risk. Her clients include non profits, religious institutions, museums and midsize companies.

Sylvia attended the national treasure and historically black university- Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland where she studied Speech Communication with a concentration in Rhetoric and Public Address and remains an active alumnus of the university. In 2023, Sylvia graduated from Bank of America’s Women Entrepreneurship Program which is a partnership certificate program powered by Cornell University and she was recently approved into the Goldman Sash’s 10,000 Small Business Cohort in NYC.

Sylvia is a thought leader in business and a media brand. Building Momentum Risk Management through a pandemic into a national footprint with geographic presence in New York City, Short Hills, NJ and Jacksonville, Florida in a few short years takes focus and grit. Sylvia’s dedication to her clients and their protection and her leadership in business has taken her all over the country. She speaks on stages, at conferences countrywide annually. In March of 2023, she was the Women’s History Month speaker to over 300 students at Fox Business School discussing Risk Management for Temple University. Sylvia leads workshops and leadership trainings for entrepreneurship at NAAIA, Black Friday Agents Network, Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) and Business Impact Groups around the country. She is one of a few Black Owned and Woman Owned Insurance Brokerage Owners in the entire country. She is an Executive Leader, and Advocacy co-chair of THE BOW COLLECTIVE, the nation’s top sisterhood for the 1% of black women owners. She co hosted and produced for a popular weekday evening drive show on Sirius XM UrbanView Channel 126 which focused on civic and social challenges in the African American community. She also produced 3 specials for Sirius XM UrbanView. Her popularity led to her hosting and executive producing a LIFESTYLE, LEGACY AND LEADERSHIP weekend show entitled NeXt Nation for 3 years on Sirius XM Urban View 126 and a popular podcast by the same name which can be found on Apple, Spotify and IHeart. She halted production in 2021 to devote her time to her family and her growing brokerage, consultancy and speaker opportunities. She is married to her life partner James and has two children, Noah and Ava.

She is a national producer holding multi licenses state to state in life, health and property and casualty insurance insurance.

At her core, Sylvia’s purpose is to serve with excellence. She is a mentor to Risk Management students at Temple University, preparing them for a breadth of opportunities in Risk Management post college. She sits as an Advisor and Board member for Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District, a non profit community development corporation which focuses on housing for the underserved, arts, culture and sustainability of the Lincoln Park area of Newark, NJ. Her LPCCD Projects include building mixed-use housing units, hosting annual music festivals, historic preservation and restoration projects and urban agriculture.
